In the Australian Railway Historical Society Bulletin No. 398, the late John Kerr wrote, “The Sydney Mail, for over forty years Queensland’s ‘crack train’, deserved a study of its own”. John was right of course, as the history of this train is rich in the development of the Queensland Government Railways.
